Service area
ShieldMePM provides lawn care and property maintenance to Panther Valley, a North Reno neighborhood tucked against the west face of Red Hill with Peavine Mountain as its backdrop. Homes here are a mix of late-1990s and early-2000s single-story builds, newer townhouse clusters, and craftsman-style properties spread across larger-than-average lots — many with views of the Sierra Nevada, Mount Rose, or the hillside Nevada "N." Access runs along US-395 to the north valleys, and the area shares a boundary with Sun Valley to the east.
Panther Valley sits noticeably higher than central Reno — closer to 5,000 feet — which shortens the mow season slightly, brings heavier snow accumulation than downtown, and means wind off Peavine Mountain is a regular factor from fall through early spring. The soil is typical of North Reno: compacted clay-alkaline ground with caliche layers close to the surface, which slows drainage and makes irrigation timing and head spacing genuinely important. We handle all of it, from the first spring irrigation start-up through the final fall winterization and snow pushes in between.
Local know-how
HOA presence in Panther Valley is limited — most of the single-family blocks have no formal HOA, giving homeowners full say over their lawn and landscape maintenance schedules. Lots tend to run larger than typical Reno suburban plots, with generous front setbacks and side yards that add to mowing time. At roughly 5,000 feet on the north side of the valley, this area picks up more snow than South Reno and sees persistent wind off Peavine, so irrigation winterization before the first hard freeze (typically late October) is not optional. TMWA even/odd watering restrictions apply here as they do citywide, and the shallow caliche soil means run times need to be staged in shorter cycles to avoid runoff on slopes.
Free, no-obligation, and written down. Transparent pricing and a crew that shows up.
