We show up in the window we promised and text you when we are on our way. Most residential trimming jobs wrap up in one visit.

We trim to shape, remove dead wood, and bag or haul all clippings. You will not find piles left at the curb.

When we finish, we send photos so you can see the results even if you are not home. If anything looks off, we come back and fix it.
The Reno difference
Reno sits at about 4,400 feet in USDA zone 6b/7a, which means the plants here deal with late frosts, hard summers, and clay-heavy soil. Timing matters. We schedule most heavy pruning in late winter before new growth breaks, and again after the first flush of summer growth slows down. Junipers, sagebrush-adjacent shrubs, and the ornamental trees common in South Meadows and Damonte Ranch neighborhoods all respond better to well-timed maintenance cuts than to aggressive shearing at the wrong time of year. Getting it right here is different from trimming in a milder climate — we know the local plants and when to leave them alone.
Questions
- We handle small to medium trees that can be safely reached from the ground or a standard ladder — typically up to about 20 feet. For large trees or anything requiring a bucket truck or significant canopy work, we will be upfront about that and can point you to a licensed arborist.
- Most shrubs in the Reno area do well with two to three cuts per year — once in late winter before growth kicks off, once in early summer, and a light cleanup in fall before things go dormant. Fast-growing species like privet or some ornamental grasses may need more attention. We will tell you what makes sense for what you have.
- Yes. Trimming can be scheduled as a standalone add-on to any ShieldMePM membership. Many Complete and Premier members include seasonal trim visits as part of their annual property care plan. Just let us know what you need and we will work it into your schedule.
