Service area
ShieldMePM provides lawn care and property maintenance across Reno, Nevada — from the tree-lined streets of the Old Southwest neighborhood to the master-planned communities of Caughlin Ranch and Somersett. We handle the ongoing work that keeps your yard healthy and presentable all year: mowing, edging, irrigation service, tree and shrub trimming, seasonal cleanups, weed and pest control, and snow removal when the valley gets hit.
Reno homeowners deal with a real mix of yard conditions. Clay-heavy soil in older neighborhoods like Virginia Lake and West University compacts quickly and drains poorly. Newer subdivisions in Double Diamond and Damonte Ranch often have HOA maintenance standards to meet. And near Rancho San Rafael and Idlewild Park, mature trees mean heavier leaf cleanup in fall. We know the ground here, and we price everything upfront so you always know what you're paying.
Local know-how
Reno sits at roughly 4,400 feet in the high desert, putting it in USDA zone 6b/7a with cold winters and about 22 inches of snow a year in the valley. Soil is often clay or caliche, especially in established neighborhoods, which means compaction and drainage issues are common. The Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) enforces a year-round 3-day even/odd watering schedule with no irrigation between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. — we schedule all irrigation work and start-ups to stay inside those rules. HOAs are common in newer developments like Somersett and Damonte Ranch; we're familiar with their standards and can help you stay in compliance. The mow season runs roughly April through October, about 28 weeks, with snow removal needs from late November through March.
Free, no-obligation, and written down. Transparent pricing and a crew that shows up.
