Service area
ShieldMePM provides lawn care and property maintenance throughout Montreux, the gated golf course community off Bordeaux Drive in south Reno (89511). We service custom homes and cottage-style residences along streets like Alpinista Circle, Clarens Court, and Chanson Way — including the Parc Forêt enclave where many owners want full exterior care without managing it themselves.
Montreux sits at roughly 5,400 to 5,900 feet in the Galena Forest foothills, surrounded by ponderosa pines, Galena Creek, and views of Mt. Rose. That elevation means a shorter mow season than the valley floor, heavier snowfall, and turf that needs more care around the freeze-thaw cycles of spring and fall. We know this terrain well and schedule accordingly.
Local know-how
Montreux has an active HOA (Montreux Homeowners Association) with monthly fees around $400 that cover gate security and common-area landscaping — but individual lot maintenance remains each homeowner's responsibility. Parc Forêt is the exception, where the sub-HOA bundles exterior upkeep into fees. Lots run from a half-acre to over an acre on rolling terrain with Sierra granite and clay soils; caliche hardpan is less prevalent here than in the valley but soil compaction under pine duff is common. At 5,400–5,900 ft the community sits above TMWA's standard service area, so irrigation is typically on private well or community water systems — not subject to TMWA's 3-day even/odd schedule, though conservation practices still apply. Snow accumulation here routinely exceeds what falls in central Reno, making timely plowing and Winter Watch coverage genuinely useful rather than optional.
