Service area
ShieldMePM provides lawn care and property maintenance throughout Double Diamond Ranch, the 3,100-home master-planned community in South Reno (89521) anchored by South Meadows Parkway and Double Diamond Parkway. We service homes across the 26 Villages — from Comstock Village near Carat Boulevard to Prospect Village toward the foothills — handling everything from weekly mowing and edging to full irrigation service and seasonal cleanups.
Double Diamond Ranch was built out in the late 1990s and early 2000s on a former 2,600-acre ranch at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills, so many yards here reflect that history: modest front turf panels, established ornamental trees along wide sidewalks, and back yards that back onto the community's 26 miles of walking trails or one of the four neighborhood parks. At roughly 4,400 feet elevation, the high-desert growing season runs about 28 weeks, and the clay-heavy soils common here compact quickly — which means lawns need consistent edging, proper irrigation timing, and attentive fall and spring cleanup to stay healthy year after year.
Local know-how
Double Diamond Ranch is governed by the Double Diamond Ranch Master Association (DDRMA), managed by FirstService Residential, with individual Villages often carrying their own sub-association rules on top of the master CC&Rs. Lots are predominantly single-family detached with modest front-yard turf areas and deeper back yards; some Village perimeters adjoin open trail corridors maintained by the HOA and the City of Reno jointly. At 4,400 ft in USDA zone 6b/7a, hard freezes arrive by November and irrigation blowouts are a must before then. Soils tend toward clay and caliche, which slows drainage and stresses turf if watering schedules are not calibrated correctly. TMWA even/odd watering rules apply (no irrigation 11 am–7 pm), and with HOA design-guideline review for any exterior changes, residents should document all landscape work — ShieldMePM keeps records of every service visit for exactly this reason.
